Beloved Patch Readers of the Tri-State Region,

We wanted to share a little news -- your faithful hyperlocal newshounds are taking Manhattan!

We've opened seven neighborhood sites -- on the Upper West and Upper East Sides, in Washington Heights, Harlem, Midtown, Downtown and in everyone's favorite patch of green, Central Park. And we've opened a great big New York City Patch, with all of the biggest stories of the day from our Manhattan Patches and our 12 Brooklyn Patches.

We're going to be covering the big city with the same zeal and energy with which we cover the 'burbs, so you can follow your favorite neighborhoods, or just the one you work in. Commuters should stay on top of the Midtown Patch, for all the latest news from the tracks in and out of the city.
