Here are the top five stories in New York City today:
- One person is dead and eight have been hospitalized in a legionnaires' disease outbreak in the Highbridge neighborhood of The Bronx. The disease is a form of pneumonia caused by bacterial infection. Four cooling towers in the area have tested positive for the bacteria. (New York City Patch)
- Former President Donald Trump must testify under oath before New York Attorney General Letitia James alongside his children Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump, a state appeals court ruled on Thursday. James is investigating the Trump Organization's finances. The former president calls it a "partisan witch hunt." (New York City Patch)
- NYC students left their classrooms at noon on Thursday to protest gun violence nationwide, including the brutal massacre in Uvalde, Texas, that killed 19 children and two teachers. (Gothamist)
- More than 1,300 homeless New Yorkers have accepted to be moved to shelters in the first three months of Mayor Adams' subway safety plan. Homeless advocates, however, wonder how many of those individuals remained in the shelter system and for how long. (New York City Patch)
- New York City public schools are introducing a new culturally-sensitive curriculum, that's aimed at introducing students to Asian American and Pacific Islander culture and history. The initiative is designed to help students relate to one another, according to the mayor. (New York Post)

- A ring of 41 shoplifters were indicted on Thursday for stealing nearly $4 million worth of merchandise from NYC stores, that they had been planning to sell on eBay. (New York City Patch)
- A 29-year-old man was stabbed on E. 63rd Street and 3rd Avenue in the Upper East Side Thursday. (New York City Patch)

- Mayor Adams wants to bring the Democratic National Convention to New York City in 2024. He made his pitch Thursday on top of a Midtown skyscraper. (New York City Patch)
- A French financier jumped to his death from the balcony of midtown skyscraper near the United Nations on Thursday. (New York Post )
- It's almost pride month, and if you're looking for a sweet treat for the occasions the East Village bakery Lady Wong is featuring an Indonesian steamed rainbow cake. (Time Out)
