Bronx Woman And 6-Year-Old Girl Stabbed To Death, Police Say

Gabrielle Muniz, 26, and 6-year-old Rozara Estevez were fatally stabbed by a man later found dead in his own home, police said.

THE BRONX — A mother and her 6-year-old daughter were stabbed to death by a man police later found dead by suicide, according to the NYPD and reports.

Gabrielle Muniz, 26, and her daughter Rozara Estevez were found dead about 11:55 p.m. Saturdayby officers performing a wellness check at their home near Monticello and Strang avenues, police said.

Police found suspect Caleb Duberry, 34, dead in his home at the Boston Secor houses on Bivonia Street the next day, police said.

Duberry, who had been dating Muniz, fatally stabbed himself Sunday about 12:15 p.m. as investigators closed in on him, sources told the New York Post.

The Bronx man was wanted for repeatedly stabbing Muniz in the head, back and arms and Rozara in the face, according to Post sources.

Muniz — who had been dating Duberry for less than a year —was studying pharmacy with hopes of becoming a doctor one day, her sister Gisselle told the Post.

“She did so much for her daughter," Gisselle told the Post. "That was her main motivation.”
