Cops Arrest Suspected Killer Of Fort Greene Philanthropist
Dondre Richardson faces murder and arson charges for the death of L. Antonio Litman, found murdered in his burning Brooklyn home.
NEW YORK CITY — Police have arrested the man suspected of murdering a beloved Fort Greene philanthropist known for handing out Christmas presents and college scholarships.
Dondre Richardson, 33, faces murder and arson charges for the death of L. Antonio Litman, 55, who was found murdered in his burning Adelphi Street home on Jan. 20, police said.
Richardson lives on Wards Island in a facility that houses both the Manhattan and Kirby Forensic psychiatric centers, police said.

Litman was a philanthropist known for his charity that provided meals and college scholarships to needy families, and the hover boards he bought for the neighborhood's children at Christmas.
The Fort Greene philanthropist also served on the board of the State University of New York's Maritime Museum, founded the charitable organization Virginia's House of Hope and made his fortune with the shipping company International Registries, according to the Daily News.

Richardson was charged in Brooklyn's 88th Precinct, police said. More information about his impending arraignment was not immediately available.
