NEW YORK CITY — New Yorkers visiting the Meatpacking District during the holiday season will be able to catch a glimpse of its annual holiday light installation — featuring an 84-light Baccarat Zénith chandelier.

The chandelier is suspended just steps away from the brand’s newly opened U.S. flagship boutique and is part of the larger holiday installations called "Lights on the Cobbles" around the district.

“Our holiday installations reflect the creative energy that defines the Meatpacking District and this partnership with Baccarat transforms that energy into light on a grand scale,” Jeffrey LeFrancois, Executive Director of the Meatpacking District Management Association, told Patch.

“We’re thrilled to collaborate with Baccarat to bring a masterpiece to the neighborhood, giving New Yorkers and visitors a reason to slow down, look up, and celebrate together.”

The chandelier will stand at the corner of Ninth Avenue and 14th Street, adorned with 3,000 pendants, including 2,000 in signature Baccarat red crystal, a distinct hue achieved by fusing clear crystal with 24-karat gold powder.

Another fixture in the holiday installation, super-sized snow people, can be seen throughout the neighborhood with customized accessories, along with neon lights and bouncing shapes.

The installation has been reimagined for 2025 by Theresa Rivera Design, the New York-based studio that has partnered with the BID since 2020.

Also in the neighborhood, ARTECHOUSE will be exhibiting their Holiday Special, reimagining the magic of the season through art and technology through January 4. The limited engagement will bring together two audience favorites: Spectacular Factory, a dazzling holiday workshop, and Tingle Bells.

“This year’s installation is a reflection of the craftsmanship, style and culture that comprise our community.” Tiffany Griffin, Director of Marketing, Events and Partnerships for the Meatpacking District Management Association, told Patch.

The neighborhood's festivities will continue on New Year’s Eve when the three continuous parties spanning the entire lower level of Chelsea Market - The Tippler, Artechouse & Dickson's Farmstand Meats - team up to host the city’s biggest party south of Times Square. Guests can expect four bars, three dance floors, incredible food and drinks, DJs and live music.
