Daylight Saving Time 2018 Ends: This Is When The Sun Sets In NYC

The nights are about to draw in a lot earlier.

NEW YORK, NY – The dark nights will be drawing in a lot earlier after this weekend.

Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. Nov. 4. “Falling back” to Standard Time — that is, setting the clock back an hour — might give you an extra hour in bed on Sunday, but it means the day will zip by – though in New York City the sun will rise that day at 6:29 a.m., it will set at 4:48 p.m.

Until the days begin lengthening again after the Winter Solstice — that’s Friday, Dec. 21, this year — the loss of an hour of daylight means many Americans in the Eastern and Central Standard Time zones will be leaving their workplaces around sunset.
