Driver Killed After Crashing Car Into Tree Off NYC Parkway, NYPD Says

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

NEW YORK CITY — A 57-year-old man was killed after he lost control of his vehicle on the Belt Parkway and crashed into a tree, police announced.

The incident happened on Monday on the westbound Belt Parkway west of 130th Street around 10:30 p.m., police said.

According to police, the 57-year-old driver was operating a 2019 Mazda CX5 heading toward the Van Wyck Expressway when he failed to navigate the roadway and struck a tree.

The victim identified as Patrick Turenne, of Brooklyn, was pronounced dead at the scene.

There have been no arrests at this time, and an investigation remains ongoing.
