  • đź—ł Primary election night results are in. Congressman Jerry Nadler beat fellow Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney in a much-anticipated race, while lawyer Dan Goldman had a small lead over Assemblywoman Yuh-Line Niou.
  • đź’‰ Monkeypox vaccines will be delivered in smaller doses to stretch supplies.
  • 🤷‍♂️ A new analysis found that nearly one-third of men under 24 don't have full time employment.

  1. The results are in! See election night coverage from NYC's Congressional and State Senate primaries here:
    • Congressman Jerry Nadler beat his fellow incumbent on the east side Carolyn Maloney and Suraj Patel in the closely Upper West/Upper East Side. (New York City Patch)
    • In the 10th Congressional District, which includes Lower Manhattan and parts of Brooklyn, former Trump impeachment lawyer Dan Goldman had a small lead over Assemblymember Yuh-Line Niou. (New York City Patch)
    • In a closely-watch State Senate primary in Astoria, parts of Brooklyn and Manhattan, DSA-endorsed Kristen Gonzalez had a commanding lead over her main opponent Elizabeth Crowley. (New York City Patch)

  2. NYC is switching to a new method of delivering the monkeypox vaccine, due to an ongoing shortage in available shots, health officials say. Starting today they'll be giving intradermal, or shallow, injections, which allow them to stretch out the supply of about 12,000 doses. (New York City Patch)
  3. A new analysis found that less than one-third of New York City's men aged between 18 and 24 have full time employment. In total, "young adults have nearly three times the rate of unemployment as the city’s workforce overall," the study found. Men had twice the rate of women, who had a 14 percent unemployment rate. (New York City Patch)
  4. Con Edison, the city's largest utility company, appears to have been dumping millions of tons of water water, some of which was heated to 90 degrees and may have contained toxic chemicals, into the Hudson River, records show. Con Ed operates off of a pier at the northern end of the park, which it leases from the Hudson River Park trust. (Subscription: New York Times)
  5. A high school English teacher from Oklahoma says she was placed on leave after introducing her students to the Brooklyn Library's system for accessing banned books across the country, called "Books Unbanned." Last year, Oklahoma passed a law restricting access to certain books in the state's schools. (Gothamist)

  • A man was stabbed while riding on the D train at around 2:15 a.m. on Monday morning near Rockefeller Center, according to authorities. He was transferred to a hospital in stable condition. (New York City Patch)
  • Cafe Argentino, a restaurant in Williamsburg, was destroyed along with several apartments in an early morning three-alarm fire on Tuesday. (Brooklyn Paper)

  • Bad news: the Riverside Park goats will be leaving the city for their winter home. The good news: they're throwing a going-away ceremony on Friday at 11 a.m., where the winner of "Riverside Go(a)t Talent" will be announced. (New York City Patch)
  • Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul is leading by 24 percentage points against her Republican opponent Lee Zeldin, according to a recent poll. (New York Post)
  • The highlight of a recent baseball game between the New York Yankees and Mets on Monday night? It wasn't The Yankees beating the Mets by 4-2, but rather a fan using his hot dog as a straw to drink beer. (NBC New York)
  • Mayor Eric Adams wants illegally parked trucks to 'truck off.' He announced operation “Heavy Duty Enforcement” in Queens with a 9:30 p.m. video–just a day after the New York Times questioned his nocturnal activities. (New York City Patch)
