Ex-NYPD Cop Gets 27 Years For Brooklyn Love Triangle Shooting
The former police officer had recently broken up with Jamie Liang prior to the deadly incident, prosecutors said.
NEW YORK CITY — Yvonne Wu, a former NYPD officer, has been sentenced to 27 years in prison for wounding her ex-girlfriend and fatally shooting a 24-year-woman inside a Brooklyn apartment in 2021, the New York Attorney General’s Office announced.
Wu pled guilty to one count of manslaughter and one count of attempted murder back in June, prosecutors said.
Wu, shot Jamie Liang in the chest on Oct. 13, 2021 with her NYPD-issued service weapon and also shot and wounded 24-year-old Jenny Li inside a Bensonhurst apartment, according to the New York Attorney General’s Office.

Wu, had been a five-year veteran of the NYPD serving in Sunset Park's 72nd Precinct.
