On Monday, a judge ordered Hoyos-Foronda to be held in jail without bail.
QUEENS, NY — A 38-year-old man posing as a plastic surgeon has been charged with manslaughter after a woman died after a botched butt implant procedure, prosecutors announced.
Felipe Hoyos-Foronda is accused of performing the cosmetic surgery without a license out of his home in Queens. The 38-year-old allegedly injected Maria Peñaloza, 31, with lidocaine while performing the procedure to remove implants from her buttocks, prosecutors said.
Penaloza then became lightheaded and went into cardiac arrest. The 31-year-old woman died two weeks later.
