NEW YORK CITY – The city might be basking under near 100 degree temperatures right now, but it won't be long before you're shoveling snow. Although temperatures in NYC are expected to be sweltering this weekend, long range forecasters are already looking at winter.

Farmers' Almanac just released its highly anticipated forecast for the 2021-22 winter (the publication should not be confused with its rival seasonal weather prognosticator, The Old Farmer's Almanac.)

In the Northeast, we're looking at a stormy, snowy January with February looking much calmer – but finishing with a "winter whopper" of a storm, the almanac says. And a nor'easter is in the cards for March.
