Firefighter Needs Help

We are reaching out to the public to help our beloved brother, Deo, who is a 9-year veteran firefighter of the FDNY and a member of Engine 153 in Staten Island, NY. Deo's reputation is highly regarded in our firehouse and throughout the FDNY.

Recently, Deo had finished working a night tour in the firehouse when he felt some numbness in his feet. He drove to the ER to get checked out, where they discovered a cancerous (sarcoma) mass in his spine. Due to the severity of its location, emergency surgery was required, and he was airlifted via helicopter to North Shore University Hospital in Long Island, NY, which specializes in these types of surgeries. During the surgery, part of his thoracic spine was removed and fused together. Since the surgery, he has been undergoing chemotherapy, but unfortunately, another small mass was discovered during follow-up scans.

The medical bills for his treatment, rehabilitation, and the airlift (via helicopter) are too much for Deo and his family to handle alone. Therefore, we are requesting any and all donations to help Deo's wife, Devon, and their two children, Deo (4) and Luca (1), during this challenging time.
