Gag Trump In NYC Porn Star Hush-Money Trial, DA Says
Manhattan prosecutors asked a judge Monday to impose a gag order barring Donald Trump from attacking witnesses in his upcoming trial.

NEW YORK CITY — Former Donald Trump should be stopped from attacking witnesses, jurors and more in his upcoming Manhattan porn star "hush money" trial, prosecutors said.
Lawyers for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg asked a judge Monday to impose a narrow gag order on Trump, arguing his "long history of making public and inflammatory remarks" made it necessary to partially muzzle him.
"Self-regulation is not a viable alternative, as defendant’s recent history makes plain," prosecutors wrote in court documents, which have been posted online by a Just Security reporter.

Trump, whose often incendiary posts on social media are cited as justification for the proposed gag order, had yet to publicly comment on the request on his Truth Social account.
His trial on accusations he falsified business records in part related to "hush-money" payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels is scheduled to move forward March 25.

The gag order request includes nearly 300 pages of exhibits, which include many examples of public attacks Trump has unleashed on everyone from Bragg to the family of the judge in his civil fraud trial.
"Those attacks have had direct and serious consequences for his targets," the filing states. "And those harms are multiplied as defendant’s followers take his lead to pursue additional threats, intimidation, and harassment."
Bragg's office received two "terroristic mailings," in addition to thousands of "harassing, racist, and offensive emails, phone calls, and text messages," since the case began, according to the filing.
"Alvin: I'm going to kill, you," one mailing that contained white powder stated, according to the filing.
