Gamestop Bandit Arrested After Series of Manhattan Robberies
The crook, Robert Taylor, was arrested on Wednesday after allegedly committing eight robberies since May 6, police said.

NEW YORK, NY — Police arrested a crook who was wanted for allegedly committing eight robberies across Manhattan since May 6, authorities said. Robert Taylor, 48, was arrested early Wednesday in Lower Manhattan's first precinct, according to the precinct's captain who tweeted about the arrest.
“Robert Taylor has been apprehended,” wrote Captain Angel Figueroa.
Taylor targeted a string of GameStop stores in Chelsea, Union Square and the Upper West Side stealing nearly $3,900. He also held up the same Upper East Side location twice, said police.

For his most recent capers he branched out from the video game chain, striking a Mattress Firm store in Greenwich Village on the corner of First Avenue and E. 19th Street on May 29, a Midtown Pret A Manger on W. 32 Street near Sixth Avenue on June 1 and a Gramercy GNC store on Third Avenue between 20th and 21st streets on June 6, according to police.
Taylor's biggest heist was his last at the Versani jewelry store in Soho when he pulled a knife on a worker . He made off with more than $13,000 from the Mercer Street store between Prince and Houston streets, cops said.

No charges have been officially filed against Taylor, authorities said.
