October's Harvest Supermoon Will Appear Over NYC: Here's When You Can See It

A supermoon occurs when a full moon orbits closest to Earth.

NEW YORK CITY — The October Harvest Supermoon is set to appear over New York City Monday night, according to forecasters.

The Harvest Supermoon will be at its peak around 11:47 p.m. It will also be visible on Tuesday, according to the Farmer’s Almanac.

The October supermoon is the first of three in 2025. A supermoon occurs when a full moon orbits closest to Earth.

Forecast for the New York metro area show mostly clear skies for Monday night.

The next supermoon will be the "Beaver Moon" on Wednesday, Nov. 5 and will be followed by the "Cold Moon" on Thursday, Dec. 4.
