Harvey Weinstein Indicted On New Charges Ahead Of Retrial: Report
This latest comes days after Weinstein was transported from Rikers Island to a New York City hospital for emergency heart surgery last week.
NEW YORK CITY — Harvey Weinstein faces new charges after he was indicted by a grand jury, prosecutors announced Thursday.
Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Nicole Blumberg made the announcement in a court hearing, Thursday.
The specifics of the indictment were not shared as it has yet to be unsealed, according to an NBC News report.

This latest comes days after Weinstein was transported from Rikers Island to a New York City hospital for emergency heart surgery last week, Patch previously reported.
Weinstein was taken to Bellevue hospital after he complained about chest pains on Sept. 8.

Those additional charges will go towards his upcoming sex crimes retrial. The original 23-sentence was overturned in April.
A majority of judges found that a Manhattan judge in Weinstein's 2020 trial erroneously admitted testimony from three women who accused the producer of sexual misconduct, Patch previously reported.
A tentative retrial date had been scheduled for November 12.
