The eight-day Jewish festival starts Friday. Here's where to stock up for your Seder meals in NYC.

NEW YORK — The start of Passover, the eight-day Jewish festival marking the Israelites' liberation from slavery, is just a couple of days away. While it's traditional to avoid leavened bread, there is no shortage of tasty holiday dishes, from brisket and matzoh ball soup to gefilte fish and kugel.

New Yorkers have plenty of places to stock up for the Seder meals on Friday and Saturday, including some of the city's most storied delis and shops.

Here's a sampling of stores with sumptuous offerings for Passover meals.

Russ & Daughters
179 E. Houston St., Lower East Side
The Lower East Side's 105-year-old appetizing shop has a lengthy list of savory bites and sweets on its Passover menu, including chopped liver and macaroons. Get your orders in soon — they have to be placed three days before they're picked up.
The Russ & Daughters Cafe at 127 Orchard St. will also host a second Seder dinner on Saturday, April 20. Some proceeds from the $180 tickets will benefit the Belarus Holocaust Memorials Project.

Katz's Delicatessen
205 E. Houston St., Lower East Side
This legendary deli just down the street from Russ & Daughters has a hefty Passover special available for delivery. The kosher-for-Passover package includes brisket, gefilte fish, matzoh ball soup, potato kugel and honey cake for $175.

Mile End Delicatessen
97 Hoyt St., Boerum Hill
The Brooklyn-based Jewish eatery that has since expanded to the South has Passover classics available for delivery or pickup from its Boerum Hill location. Options include beet-pickled boiled eggs, potato latkes and chicken schnitzel.

Ben's Kosher Deli

Feed a crowd with a holiday dinner for 10 from this beloved deli with outposts in Queens, Manhattan, Long Island and Florida. For just shy of $350, you'll get your choice of entree and sides, plus two appetizers, other accompaniments, four quarts of chicken soup with matzoh balls, and fruit salad for dessert.

The famous uptown market has a wide range of holiday packages available, from a $129 box of Passover treats to a complete three-course Seder dinner for 12 for $498.

This specialty foods store, more than seven decades old, has a selection of 10 Passover dishes available, including chicken soup, chicken liver and Israeli salad. You can also choose from a wide range of smoked fish, kosher deli meats, caviar and other items.

Paprika Kosher Catering
56 E. 34th St., Midtown
Everything is kosher from this purveyor of Iraeli cooking. Among the several options on the Passover menu is a selection of market plates with a main dish, a side and two salads.
