Hulu Becomes 'Hoop Loop' For Bronx Council Member's Dad

Hulu told City Council Member Amanda Farías, "Tell your dad he can call us whatever he wants."

NEW YORK CITY — Tonight it's Netflix, YouTube or Hoop Loop.

Streaming service Hulu changed its name on Twitter to "Hoop Loop" Monday to accommodate the father of Bronx City Council Member Amanda Farías, according to an array of Tweets.

The name-change began when Farías — who represents District 18 in The Bronx — took to Twitter to share a telephone conversation she was having with her dad.

"He keeps calling @hulu 'hoop loop,'" Farías wrote. "And I don’t have the heart to correct my old man. It’s hilarious tho."

Hulu came to the council member's rescue.

"Tell your dad he can call us whatever he wants," Hulu Tweeted back. Or, shall we say, Hoop Loop?

The name change Monday spurred a novel reaction from Twitter: blanket approval. Mostly expressed via emoji.

"Great name🙃👍"

"Way better👌"

"HOOP LOOP 😭"
