Kanye West Stops Performance Mid-Show After Kim Kardashian Robbed in Paris

The rap superstar was performing in Queens when he was informed his wife had been robbed at gunpoint.

QUEENS, NY — The show could not go on. Enigmatic rap superstar Kanye West cut out of a performance at the Meadows Festival in Queens on Sunday night literally mid-song after being informed his wife, Kim Kardashian, had been robbed at gunpoint in Paris.

An associate came from backstage, grabbed West and apparently told him what had occurred, triggering the sudden end of the show.

"Sorry guys, sorry guys, family emergency, I have to leave the show," West told concertgoers, shutting off his Auto-Tune mic and immediately walking off stage.

The confused crowd waited for awhile until it was made clear the show was over. The Meadows Festival Twitter account confirmed the show was abruptly canceled just after 10 p.m. on Sunday night.

The festival organizers put out a further statement just after midnight.

Kardashian was staying at a private mansion in Paris during Fashion Week when, according to CNN, men dressed as police officers broke in to her room, held a gun to her head, and locked her in the bathroom. The men made off with about $10 million in jewelry and two cell phones. She was physically unharmed. CNN reports the couple's two children were not with her at the time of the incident.

According to reports, Kardashian spoke to French police after the incident and left for home on a private jet Monday afternoon Paris time.
