"From day one, our campaign laid out a vision for a more affordable, safer, and fairer New York. One that delivers for working people and stands up to attacks from Donald Trump and Washington Republicans. With the ranked choice results now in and our lead even stronger, it’s clear that message resonated across all five boroughs. I’m honored to be the Democratic nominee for Comptroller," Levine said in a statement on Tuesday.
"We will use the full powers of the office to fight back when the Trump administration attacks our city—whether they are ripping immigrant families apart or stealing money from our budget.
And we will fulfill the central role of the comptroller: To be a totally independent voice for accountability in city government, supporting the mayor when appropriate, and never hesitating to push back when needed.
To every New Yorker who put their trust in me: thank you. The work ahead won’t be easy, but I won’t stop fighting for a stronger, more affordable New York for all of us."
