Love Your Local: New Campaign Ad Promotes NYC Small Businesses
"Broad City" star Arturo Castro stars in the newest ad produced by the team behind "I Love NY" campaign.

NEW YORK, NY - From the team that produced the “I Love NY” campaign, comes a new crusade, called “Love Your Local.” According to the NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS), the campaign zeroes in on helping New York City’s iconic small businesses to survive and thrive. Social media users can support or otherwise track the campaign through the hashtag #LoveYourLocalNYC.

Actor Arturo Castro, who stars in Comedy Central’s “Broad City,” Netflix’s “Narcos” and the new film “Snatched,” appears in a newly released ad, shot at Di Palo’s Fine Foods in Manhattan. The ad, as part of a program led by the SBS, promotes shopping at independent, neighborhood businesses throughout the five boroughs.

New Yorkers can log on to nominate their favorite small business and if the business is eligible, it will appear on an interactive map for others to discover. Nominated businesses are eligible for grants of up to $90,000 in order to help these businesses compete in the market. To date, nearly 2,000 small businesses have been nominated.
