NEW YORK CITY — Four New York City organizations are teaming up this summer to bring New Yorkers a new two-day jazz festival at Madison Square Park.

The NoMad Alliance, along with The Jazz Gallery, Flatiron NoMad Partnership and Madison Square Park Conservancy, are set to produce the inaugural NoMad Jazz Festival from August 9-10.

"The NoMad Jazz Festival is designed to be a community-centered celebration where you can relax, enjoy great food from local restaurants, and make memories with friends and family – all set to legendary performers and the next generation of jazz talent. This is a festival that’ll draw you in, make you feel right at home, and leave you counting the days until it returns next year," Miriam Dalaei Fodera, Director, NoMad Jazz Festival told Patch.

The festival is expected to showcase both renowned jazz performers and up-and-coming jazz talent.

"With our vibrant mix of public spaces, incredible dining and retail experiences, and unmatched connectivity, Flatiron and NoMad is the perfect stage to experience the sound of jazz in New York City," James Mettham, President, Flatiron NoMad Partnership told Patch.

The week of the festival from August 3-8, NoMad and Flatiron neighborhoods will have special pop up events, curated live performances across participating venues, and discounts from local businesses.

"Madison Square Park Conservancy looks forward to welcoming some of today’s most talented jazz performers to the park this August. What better way to spend a summer day than listening to music on the Oval Lawn, at the center of our community’s favorite green oasis," Holly Leicht, Executive Director, Madison Square Park Conservancy, told Patch.
