Man, 20, Charged For Violent NYC Street Attack Of Couple: Police

NEW YORK CITY — A 20-year-old man has been arrested and charged for a brutal attack and attempted robbery of an elderly couple in Midtown Manhattan last month.
Camron Thomas has been charged with two counts of second degree attempted robbery and two counts of second degree assault, police announced.
Thomas is accused of attacking a 75-year-old man and a 70-year-old woman were walking near 437 West 44th Street on Nov. 9.

The suspect tried to take the woman's purse from her arm — after being unsuccessful, he proceeded to threw the woman to the ground.
Thomas also tried to take the man’s wallet, punching him repeatedly in the face, police said.

The would-be robber then fled westbound down 44th Street after discarding his own shirt.
Following the attack, the woman was left with a bloody nose and pain to the elbow and neck; the man with serious injury to his eye and face.
The couple were transported to Mount Sinai West Hospital in stable condition, officials said.
