Suspect Charged After Biting, Sexually Assaulting Woman In NYC Nail Salon
The incident happened at a salon on West 36th Street and Broadway, police said.
NEW YORK CITY — A 35-year-old has been arrested and charged after he allegedly attacked and sexually assaulted a worker inside a Manhattan nail soon on Labor Day, police said on Monday.
Joseph Wichard has been charged with attempted rape and sex abuse in connection with the incident at a salon on West 36th Street and Broadway, police said.
The suspect is accused of walking into the salon and attacking a 34-year-old woman and pinning her into a corner.

Wichard bit the woman's cheek and attempted to rape her before the victim fought him off, police said.
The victim attempted to get away but had to fight off the suspect a second time before he finally fled the scene, according to prosecutors. The 34-year-old was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Wichard has pled not guilty to all charges. He is being held in jail without bail and is due back in court on Thursday.
