Man Fatally Struck By Subway Train In Union Square: NYPD
A man jumped in front of a Q train Monday morning, police said.

NEW YORK CITY — A straphanger died after he jumped in front of a subway train in Union Square station, police said.
The fatal collision Monday morning snarled subway service during the rush hour, as four lines — the N, Q, R and W — were partly suspended to allow NYPD officers to investigate it, according to an MTA post.
Details on the death were scant shortly afterward.

Police said a man was struck by a Q train headed south about 8:30 a.m. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene, NYPD officials said.
They later told Patch the man had jumped in front of the train.

The man's identity had not been released as of Monday evening.
