NEW YORK CITY — A man's body was found riddled with stab wounds inside a luxury Lower East Side hotel, police said.

The 49-year-old man was pronounced dead Sunday in the Public Hotel, a swanky hotel near Chrystie and Stanton streets with a popular rooftop bar, authorities said.

An NYPD spokesperson couldn't confirm to Patch many details that were reported in the New York Post, including that the man was found in a basement bathroom.

The Post also reported that the man had stab wounds in his neck, and cops found a knife next to him.

The grisly discovery unfolded about 11:15 a.m., police said.
