Man Sexually Abused After Dying On NYC Subway Identified

No arrests have been made yet. An investigation remains ongoing.

NEW YORK CITY — A 37-year-old man, whose body was sexually abused after he died on an R train last week, has been identified, according to reports.

The victim's wife, identified him as Jorge Gonzalez, according to New York Post and New York Daily News.

“He wasn’t just a random person, he was a father, he was a family man, he cared about his family in Mexico,” Gonzalez's wife, Teresa, told the outlets.

The 38-year-old woman disclosed she had been separated from Gonzalez for about six years and her late husband had been suffering from cirrhosis and alcoholism.

The widow told reporters that she wants the suspect caught.

“I don’t understand what’s going through this person’s mind to do something like that to a lifeless body. I want this person off the streets, she told the Post.

The incident happened around 11:45 p.m. last Tuesday aboard an R train at the Whitehall Station in Lower Manhattan, police said.

MTA employees and police found the dead body early Wednesday morning and reviewed security footage where they saw the suspect perform the sex acts, Patch previously reported.

Two days later, the NYPD released surveillance images and video of the suspect.

He was last seen wearing a blue baseball cap, black hooded jacket, a yellow hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, red and white sneakers and carrying a black backpack.
