UPDATE: Bank Robber of Many Hats Has Now Hit Eight Banks in Manhattan

A serial bank robber has now hit eight different locations around Manhattan, making off with money from seven of them.

UPDATE July 21, noon: The bank robber of many hats has struck again.

Police say the suspect has now ripped off eight banks across Manhattan. The latest came on the Upper East Side on Monday.

According to police, the suspect entered an HSBC Bank at 1165 Third Avenue just before 4 p.m. and passed a note to a teller demanding money. The teller complied, and he made off with an undetermined amount of money.

He had been quiet for two weeks after robbing an HSBC Bank at 45 E. 89th St. on the Upper East Side on July 8 — the seventh robbery he committed.

There are a few very busy bank robbers in Manhattan.

One day after the NYPD announced they are searching for a man who has ripped off three banks on the Upper West Side and Upper East Side, they're on the search for a separate bank robber who has now hit six banks across the Upper West Side, Murray Hill and the West Village.

The man, seen in surveillance footage wearing sunglasses in each of the robberies, robbed the Santander Bank at 250 Lexington Ave. in Murray Hill on March 8. He approached the teller and demanded money, making off with an indeterminate amount. His most recent robbery came on June 24, when he robbed a HSBC Bank at 721 Amsterdam Ave.

In the meantime, he hit a Santander Bank on 711 Third Ave. on May 12 and fled with an undetermined amount of money. He robbed an HSBC Bank at 354 Avenue of the Americas in the West Village on May 31. He robbed a different HSBC Bank at 2025 Broadway on the Upper West Side on June 13.

In a sixth incident on May 27, he approached a teller at a Santander Bank at 250 Lexington Ave. — the same bank he robbed initially — and handed over a note but fled before receiving any money.
