Adams has previously said a partnership with Trump is "critical to New York City's success."

The mayor has denied there was a quid pro quo with Trump in exchange for his help with immigration and deportation procedures in the city.

"I did nothing wrong but serve the people of New York City," Adams told the House Oversight Committee in March.

Tiffany Raspberry, deputy mayor for intergovernmental affairs, will also be at the meeting, according to reports. Gov. Kathy Hochul has also traveled to D.C. to meet with the president.

This will be Adams' first meeting with Trump since he announced he would be leaving the Democratic primary and instead will run as an independent in his bid to be reelected to a second term.
