Man Fatally Stabs Wife, Daughter Before Attempting To Kill Himself, NYPD Says

The incident happened at 63-35 Forest Ave. in Queens.

UPDATE: Ernesto Cruz has been charged with two counts of murder and criminal possession of a weapon, police announced Monday.

NEW YORK CITY — A husband is accused of stabbing his wife and 2-year-old daughter to death in an attempted murder-suicide over the weekend in Queens, according to police.

The victims have since been identified Ana Pilatagsi-Moposita, 41, and Analiz Cruz, police said on Sunday.

The incident happened around 7 p.m. on Saturday at 63-35 Forest Ave., police said.

Officers found a 54-year-old man with stab wounds to his chest, while Pilatagsi-Moposita and Cruz both had stab wounds to the neck and chest.

The husband and wife were taken to NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst, where the 41-year-old woman was pronounced dead.

The 2-year-old girl was taken to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.

The 54-year-old husband remains in stable condition.

An investigation remains ongoing.
