Naked Donald Trump Statue Captures Hearts in New York City, But Is Quickly Torn Down (PHOTOS)

UNION SQUARE, NY — If you've ever wanted to see Donald Trump naked, seek help. But also, you had your chance in Union Square Thursday morning to see the presidential candidate in all his glory.

The statue was unveiled in Union Square Thursday. It was toppled by the New York City Parks Department around 1:15 p.m.

Be warned, he's really naked and, according to the artist, the statues are as anatomically correct as possible. (Hands seem a little too big though, if we're being honest.)

"He's a clown, he's an ugly clown," said Carmen Morales of Brooklyn, on seeing the statue in Union Square. "He wants to take all the immigrants out and if he does that we'll be poor as a country."

The project is called "The Emperor Has No Balls," a play off the short story "The Emperor Has No Clothes."

Two friends from Brooklyn, Althea and Maria, said they would be voting for the first time — for Hillary Clinton.

"We need a woman, we need change, we need Hillary," said Althea, who preferred not to give her last name.

“I don’t expect these things to last more than 30 or 45 minutes,” an anonymous spokesman for INDECLINE told the Post. “But I would love to watch some irate 65-year-old Trump supporter try to take thing down with his bare hands.”

Cooper Union student Jeremiah took a selfie with the backside of the statue. When asked what he thought about it, he said, "The micropenis thing has been a thing for a while. He’s kind of like that pompous a-- who’s like so full of himself, and there’s the whole theme of compensating for something." The 19-year-old student posted his selfie to his snapchat to get some laughs.

Jeremiah's classmate, Kiersten, nodded. "It's hilarious," she said. "Trump sucks, he really sucks."

According to the Washington Post, anarchist artist collective INDECLINE has placed naked statues of Trump around the country Thursday morning. They were unveiled in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Cleveland and Seattle. INDECLINE posted videos of itself making the statues on YouTube.

Representatives from parks department removed the statue, well, all except for the feet, just after 1 p.m. on Thursday. One bystander quickly grabbed part of the left foot before the parks department representatives could smash the remains.

Patch reached out to the Trump campaign, but had not heard back.

The crowd booed the parks department representatives, and one responded, "Just let me do my job description, guys."

The parks department appears to have gotten the last laugh on the issue though, as its statement on the issue indicates.

A police officer told Patch it was removed because it was "unattended property."

Kori Smith and two of her co-workers came out to see the statue, but arrived too late.

"It's the only time I wanted to see Donald Trump," a disappointed Smith said.

"If the NYPD wanted to make it so that no one saw the statue, they're way too late," said Peri Fischer, who works at the Union Square Staples. "It's all over the Internet."

"For once someone did this with a man," Fischer added. "Made it so that his appearance and his body was on display. Women are judged by their appearance and their bodies all the time. How often is Hillary judged by her clothes? Her clothes are ugly, so what?"
