32 Hospitalized In NYC Double-Decker, MTA Bus Crash
A double-decker tour bus plowed into an MTA bus in Gramercy late Thursday, sending 27 people to the hospital, officials and reports say.
NEW YORK CITY — Dozens were hurt when a double-decker packed with tourists plowed into an MTA bus Thursday in Manhattan, officials said.
The crash unfolded shortly after 7 p.m. at East 23rd Street and First Avenue, FDNY officials said.
First responders scrambled to help the two buses' passengers, of which 67 were treated or evaluated for injuries, officials said. Medics took 32 people to local hospitals, according to an FDNY tweet.

No injuries were life-threatening, although passengers still suffered a multitude of injuries, from cuts to bruises to suspected fractures, said EMS Deputy Chief Paul Hopper.
"We're all quite fortunate it was not much worse,” he said.

MTA officials pinned the blame on the double-decker's driver, whom they said ran through a red light and T-boned a X27 line bus, the Post reported.
