Police Release New Images Of Suspects Who Attacked Cops In Times Square

NEW YORK CITY — Police are still searching for multiple suspects behind an attack on two NYPD officers in Times Square last weekend.

The incident happened on Friday as a boxing match was taking place in Times Square. Surveillance video show the suspects appear to attack the officers as they tried to respond to an assault near West 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue.

The group threw a scooter, a basketball, an umbrella and bottles at the officers.

Police released new images of the suspects on Tuesday. Five of the suspects had been arrested as of Tuesday, but police are still searching for three others.

"This was a targeted attack. Planned, deliberate and carried out with intent, and it will not be tolerated," NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said after the incident.

Several of the suspects are suspected to be members of the Los Diablos 42 gang and migrants who lived in Midtown shelters, police said.

The first suspect is approximately 15-20 years old, last seen wearing a black ski mask, a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and black sneakers.

The second suspect is approximately 15-20 years old, last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and yellow sneakers.

The third suspect is approximately 15-20 years old, last seen wearing a light blue camouflage hooded sweatshirt, light blue jeans, and black and white sneakers.
