  2. Hochul will debate her GOP opponent Rep. Lee Zeldin on Tuesday night for the first and likely only time, just two weeks before the general elections. Hochul's lead over Zeldin in the polls has been shrinking to as little as 4 percent. (Gothamist)

  4. Bronx residents are raising funds to take legal action against a controversial rezoning in Throggs Neck that would include over 300 apartment units. Neighbors are concerned the development will change the fabric of their community and could lead to future construction projects in the area. (Subscription/New York Daily News)
  5. A public school in Staten Island will be one of the first in the city participating in a pilot program to lock its front doors, in a bid to improve school safety and following parents' advocacy. (SILive.com)
