New York Comedy Festival Celebrates 20 Years With Star-Studded Lineup
Featuring Bill Maher, Tracy Morgan, Judd Apatow, and more, this year's lineup is stacked with more than 100 performances.
NEW YORK CITY, NY – No matter who wins the presidential election in November, New Yorkers will be laughing. From November 8-17, the New York Comedy Festival will celebrate its twentieth year with performances by over 200 comedians in more than 100 shows citywide.
Founded back in 2004 by comedy doyenne Caroline Hirsch of the eponymous Carolines, a famed Times Square club where stars like Dave Chappelle, John Mulaney, and Tiffany Haddish booked early careers gigs, the first New York Comedy Festival featured a dozen stand-up shows over five days.
The festival has grown a lot since then. It’s also broadened its scope, and this year’s lineup includes not only stand-up, but sketch, improv, podcast tapings, panels, competitions, and a gala. Fan favorites – like Stand Up for Heroes, New York’s Funniest Stand-Up Competition, and Comics to Watch – will return.
