Here are the top five stories in New York City today:
- Non-binary New Yorkers will be able to choose the gender "X" on state ID cards starting as soon as June 24. The change comes on the heels of the Gender Recognition Act, first introduced last year, and after a non-binary lawyer sued New York State. (New York City Patch)
- A set of reforms unveiled last week are set to improve the working conditions of street vendors, by making selling food or merchandise without a permit a civil offense rather than a criminal one. The reforms will also all 400 new vending permits to be issued each year. Advocates say that's not nearly enough. (New York City Patch)
- The City Council voted on Friday to keep school speed cameras on 24/7. Their vote comes at the same time that another bill in the State Legislature aims to renew the speed camera program for another three years. (New York City Patch)
- The Yankees are joining other sports teams using their platform to promote an end to gun violence in the wake of the massacre in Uvalde, Texas earlier this week and in Buffalo a week prior. "58 percent of American adults or someone they care for have experienced gun violence," the team tweeted. (New York City Patch)
- A New York judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by former President Donald Trump, allowing a probe by the NY Attorney General to continue. The federal judge ruled on Friday that the investigation is not politically motivated. (NBC New York)

Monday is Memorial Day - here's what you need to know:
- Schools, libraries, and government offices will be closed. Mail won't be delivered, and the MTA will be running on a weekend schedule. (New York City Patch)
- Beaches will be open starting today. Temperatures on Monday could push upwards of 90 degrees. (New York City Patch)
- If you're planning on driving within or out of the city, be on the lookout - more cops will be on the roads than usual, as part of the Governor's STOP-DWI initiative. (Patch)

- Brooklyn’s 155th Memorial Day Parade will begin at 11 a.m. at 3rd Ave. and 78th Street
- The Little Neck-Douglaston Parade will kick off from Jayson Avenue and Northern Boulevard at 2 p.m.

- A man in Parkchester, The Bronx, was fatally stabbed shortly after midnight on Friday. (New York Daily News)
- Police announced a 25-year-old man is dead, after driving a car off a highway and into a house along the New England Thruway. (New York City Patch)
- Police arrested a Staten Island woman for "failure to yield and failure to exercise due care" after she crashed her car and killed a one-year-old child on Thursday in the Rosebank neighborhood. (Gothamist)
