- New York's Congressional and State Senate primaries will take place on August 23, a judge ruled on Friday, leaving it up to the legislature to determine whether the Assembly, Gubernatorial, and Lieutenant Governor primaries will be kept at their original June 28 date. A court-appointed "special master" has until May 20 to draft new district lines. (Gothamist)
- Gotham Pizza on the Upper East Side is charged by Attorney General Letitia James for stealing $175,000 in wages from at least ten employees over a three year period. Allegedly, they were not payed for overtime hours worked. "No matter how you slice it, fair pay is not a suggestion — it's the law," said James in a statement. (New York City Patch)
- A man and a woman were fatally hit by a subway on Friday, after wandering into the tracks at the 145th Street 1 station in Manhattan. This comes only a week after two people, presumed to be homeless, were found dead on tracks in Brooklyn. (New York City Patch)
- The NFL drafts took place on Thursday night, with New York's Jets and Giants football teams regarded by some as the night's "winners." Notably, The Jets scored three top players, including Ahmad "Sauce" Gardner. (CBS Sports)
