NYC Beer Delivery Workers End Strike After Reaching Agreement

The tentative agreement will have to be ratified by members, but is expected to pass.​

NEW YORK CITY — Six hundred unionized workers of Manhattan Beer & Beverage Distributors ended their strike on Thursday after reaching an agreement on a new contract with improved pensions, officials said.

The beer delivery workers had been on strike since Monday in an effort to get a better contract that protects their pensions and retirement security.

"We're pleased to announce we've reached an agreement and the strike is over," Manhattan Beer Distributors said in a statement.

The workers are members of the Laundry, Distribution, and Food Service Joint Board, Workers United/SEIU (LDFS Union).

Businesses throughout New York City, Long Island, Westchester and surrounding counties in New York State were affected by the strike.
