NYC Coronavirus Case Count Now At 463, Governor Says
There were 463 confirmed cases of coronavirus in New York City as of Monday morning, officials said.
NEW YORK CITY — The number of confirmed cases of the new coronavirus increased to 463 Monday morning, according to lawmakers.
The number jumped by 134 cases since Gov. Andrew Cuomo addressed the press Sunday morning, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Monday morning.
There are now 950 confirmed COVID-19 cases in New York state, 221 of which were newly announced, and seven deaths statewide.

This news came as Gov. Cuomo and governors from New Jersey and Connecticut announced a joint effort to combat the disease's spread by shutting down movie theaters, bars, restaurants and gyms in the tristate area.

The shutdown, and lawmakers' pleas to New Yorkers to avoid crowded areas, did not stop Mayor Bill de Blasio from having a workout at the Park Slope YMCA.
