NYC DOE Aide Accused Of Strangling Child In NYC School, Police Say

NEW YORK CITY — A 47-year-old Department of Education employee is accused of strangling a child at a Brooklyn school, police said.
Yan Chen was arrested on Thursday around 6 p.m. in the confines of the 72 Precinct, police said.
The 47-year-old has been charged with assault, strangulation, criminal obstruction of breathing, endangering the welfare of a child, menacing and harassment.

According to reports, the man worked as a school aide and the incident involved a 9-year-old child at P.S. 169 Sunset Park School.
