- A transit advocacy organization, Riders Alliance, announced this weekend a plan to increase traffic on the city's trains and busses. Its plan is meant to be a counter to Mayor Adams' plan to increase police presence in the subway system. The group proposes increasing train times to every six minutes and increasing funding for non-law-enforcement officials. (Gothamist)
- LGBT rights activists and out politicians rallied in front of Chelsea Piers on Sunday morning, protesting against a conference taking place there that included GOP Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who recently signed into law a bill commonly called, "Don't Say Gay." Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and former New York Times writer Bari Weiss were also expected to be in attendance. (New York Post)
- The City Council is expected to vote on its historic $101 billion budget later today. Here's a complete breakdown by the numbers of what made it in. Notably, previously controversial school funding cuts were included. (City & State)
- New York households enrolled in SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) will receive maximum household benefits this month. Families that already receive the maximum amount will get at least $95 in supplemental payments. (PIX11 New York News)
- The Morgan Library and Museum, which has undergone a years-long renovation, will open its gardens to the public this month. The newly opened grounds feature an array of quirky statues and plants. (Gothamist)
