NYC Marathon Canceled As Organizers Fear Coronavirus Spread
The event, the world's largest marathon, would have brought together 50,000 runners and a million spectators.

NEW YORK CITY – The TCS New York City Marathon set to wind through the streets of the five boroughs in November was canceled Wednesday in an effort to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
City officials and organizers from the New York Road Runners decided that the event, the world's largest marathon which would hava gathered 50,000 runners and a million spectators, was too risky.
The race would have marked its 50th anniversary this year. It was scheduled to be held on Nov. 1.
