NYC Memorial Day: What's Open, Closed For The Holiday
Here's what's open and closed in New York City as the nation honors its military heroes and welcomes the unofficial start of summer.
NEW YORK, NY — Memorial Day is a day to dip your toe in the waters of summer and honor those who lost their lives in service to their nation.
This year New York will celebrate with parades — in Brooklyn and the nation's largest in northeast Queens — as well as with a host of Fleet Week activities and a big splash (if the weather permits) at city beaches, which officially open to the public this weekend.
The holiday weekend also means grappling with an array of logistics as many offices will be closed and the transit schedule will be different than usual.
