NYC New Year's Weekend Weather: No Need To Bundle Up As 2023 Ends
But prepare for some sprinkles Friday before the last (sunny) weekend of the year.
NEW YORK CITY — Don't expect to bundle up much during the last days of 2023.
Sunny skies and 45-degree highs will greet New Yorkers from Saturday into New Year's Day Monday, according to the National Weather Service's forecast.
And the million-strong revelers in Times Square will experience a slightly warmer than usual New Year's Eve, AccuWeather reported.

"For the ball drop at the cusp of 2023-24, the temperature will be around the 40-degree Fahrenheit mark, several degrees above the average of 34 degrees," the report stated.
But New Yorkers still have to make it through Friday, which carries a slight chance of rain, the National Weather Service's forecast states.

Drizzle or light rain could fall before 10 a.m., before returning later in the day, the forecast states.
"A 20 percent chance of light rain or sprinkles before 1am," Friday night's forecast states.
