NYC Pizza Joints Dominate List Of Nation's Best: See Them
Of the 101 best pizza restaurants, 36 were in NYC.

NEW YORK, NY – As if this wasn't already established fact, food website the Daily Meal delved deep into the question of which American city makes the best pizza. Its findings are overwhelmingly conclusive.
Of the nation's 101 best pizza spots, the city city holds 36 spots. It has seven of its restaurants in the top 10.
That's many more than California which - shockingly - has the next highest number of entries with 10.

NYC's famous pizza rival, Chicago, also has a poor showing. Only 6 Illinois restaurants made the list.
All five of the city's borough's made an appearance, though the number one spot was somehow snagged by a joint in Connecticut called Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana.

Portland, Oregon, has only two of the 101 best pizza places in America, the study found. That might surprise the former pizza czar of Roberta's in Bushwick, who recently said that city was the best in the country for the food. Patch readers who responded to a survey asking if they agreed, however, won't be amazed to note its absence.
The results of that survey will be available Monday – sign up for Patch's daily newsletters to receive it.
