NYC Pride 2021 Events: Here's How To Celebrate
A roundup of what to do and where to go this month to observe Pride.

After last year's official Pride events were canceled due to COVID, NYC Pride is back for the entirety of the month in full, summer swing under the official theme "The Fight Continues." Here is a roundup of events in all five boroughs, and then some.

What: Official NYC Pride events including the annual Pride March, PrideFest, Youth Pride, Human Rights Conference, the 40th annual Pride run and OutCycling Pride Ride. Organized by Heritage of Pride.

Note: NYPD will be present at official NYC pride events. NYC Pride tweeted that, "NYPD will continue to provide the services they have in the past years, but with increased emphasis on community affairs personnel. The NYPD will work on continuing to reduce visibility at NYC Pride events."
What: Evening of live in-person jazz performance by the Richard Cortez Band, self-described as "The only jazz band playing gay bars, period."

Harlem Pride Fitness Challenge
What: Weekly group run. Masks are required.

The First Rainbow: QR to AR Experience
What: Augmented reality experience to honor the birthplace of the Gay Civil Rights Movement and celebrate Pride. The experience features a virtual colorful rainbow and a vintage marker that educates users on the historic nature of the park as the birthplace of Pride. App not required. Organized by Flowcode, 8th Wall and Arlene.
When: Thursday, June 10 to Wednesday, June 30
Where: Christopher Park, 38-64 Christopher Street
What: Morning activities led by actor and queer educator Nick E. Attendees will create rainbow friendship bracelets, make their own Pride flags and finish with a themed freeze dance with a special Drag Queen guest. Organized by Curated Care. Tickets cost $25.

Proud To Be Me: The Urban Oasis
What: An open bar, passed hors d'oeuvres, a DJ and dancing and a special live performance by RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 5 Runner-Up Miz Cracker. General Admission is $75.
When: Saturday, June 12 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Where: Glasshouse, 545 West 25th Street
What: Free and family-friendly afternoon silent disco dance party with sweeping views of the Hudson River and three channels of music to groove to. Queer DJs from QuietEvents play beats pumped through light-up headphones. Organized by Quiet Events and the Battery Park City Authority.
When: Thursday, June 17 at 7 p.m.
Where: Wagner Park, 20 Battery Place
What: A multifaceted event including yoga led by Ally Bogard and dancing with legendary DJ MikeQ and the grounding voice of resident love-pastor Elliott LaRue. Free breakfast bites and free cans from Athletic Brewing (non-alcoholic).
When: Friday, June 18 from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Where: Judson Memorial Church, 55 Washington Square South
What: Event by queer academics throughout the country, all bars located in West Village. Beginning at Julius Bar and ending at Henrietta Hudson’s touring ‘lost’ Sea Colony, Duchess, Bonnie&Clydes. Tickets are $25.

Gaylarious Pride Stand-Up Comedy Show
What: The PRIDE Comedy show featuring NYC's LGBT and LGBT-friendly comedians from television, radio and comedy clubs across the country. Tickets are $28. Venue requires 2 drink minimum per person. Food is available.
When: Wednesday, June 23 from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

ART APPLE NYC presents PRIDE Exhibition
What: Drop by the opening of the Pride Month installation at Triangle Loft. Specially curated by @kelilucas_official and @guerrillaartshows with @artapplenyc. Come celebrate loving ourselves exactly as we are and honor the LGBTQ+ community with artwork by some of favorite local and international queer artists. Free to attend; donations accepted.

What: Join The People's Forum for a conversation on the radical legacy of Pride and the current struggles of the queer working-class communities. Music, dance, drinks and more! Please wear a mask and practice social distancing protocols.

Hot Rabbit's PRIDAY LGBTQ+ Pride Celebration
What: Hot Rabbit's biggest Queer dance party of the year in a massive 8,000 square foot mega club. Attendees must present Excelsior Pass or original vaccination card (no photocopies) to enter. Tickets start at $30, not including fees.
When: Friday, June 25 to Saturday, June 26 from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.

What: Three days of shows with BOUND x Tom of Finland Foundation on Friday, Susanne Bartsch presents Pride on Top on Saturday and Occupy the Disco x PARADISCO on Sunday.

What: Join Spirit(s) Yoga at Magic Hour Rooftop for a very special PRIDE edition of their signature yoga class– featuring a playlist of LGBTQIA celebratory anthems and trivia questions integrated. Rainbow-wear encouraged. Tickets starting at $25.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK DANCE PARTY! PRIDE EDITION
What: Susanne Bartsch and House of Yes join forces to present New York, New York: A Pride Celebration Dance Party with surprise pop-up performances throughout the night.
When: Friday, June 25 from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Where: Sony Hall, 235 West 46th Street
What: Join Graduate Roosevelt Island for an afternoon of pop ups and sweet treats in celebration of NYC Pride. First 200 attendees get free ice cream cones from Big Gay Ice Cream. First 100 attendees will receive complimentary organic, plant-based, gluten and dairy free juices from Magic Mix Juicery. Shop LGBTQ-owned makers market featuring Queer Candle Co., Messqueen, Rattrap, Smiley Art Goods & Erica Dray.

Where: Graduate Roosevelt Island, 22 N Loop Rd
What: The March is a demonstration of the First Amendment right to protest and takes place without permits or sponsors. Thousands of Dykes take the streets each year in celebration of our beautiful and diverse Dyke lives, to highlight the presence of Dykes within our community, and in protest of the discrimination, harassment, and violence we face in schools, on the job, and in our communities.

Welcome Back NYC Gay Pride Party
What: Party with dancers, hookah, VIP bottle service and more. Tickets start at $25, not including fees.

Pride On The Pier: Watermark After Dark
What: Enjoy live DJs, aerial acts, burlesque, glow paint and giveaways. VIP tables and waterfront cabanas are available.

Gay Pride Celebration Rainbow Skate Party
What: Join Central Park Dance Skaters Association for a weekend roller skate event featuring DJs Andre Collins and Frankie D. Multi-color attire is highly encouraged! Weather permitting.
When: Saturday, June 26 to Sunday, June 27 from 2:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.

What: A Pride Action specifically centering Black Trans Women, their history and legacy.

Pride Street Meeting and Outreach
What: Join Party for Socialism & Liberation in the streets this Sunday to celebrate NYC Pride and uplift radical LGBTQ history. Meet outside Stonewall, a landmark in the struggle against homophobia and police brutality for discussions on the many issues impacting LGBTQ people. Narcan and safer sex kits will be distributed help make sure everyone can enjoy Pride as safely as possible.

What: 3rd Annual Queer Liberation March will take to the streets of Manhattan marching from Midtown to Greenwich Village. Organized by Reclaim Pride Coalition.

Urban Bear presents NYC PRIDE BEAR BLAST
What: Join The Brass Monkey for three floors of furry, frisky fun plus an incredible roof deck overlooking Hudson River Park and the newly opened Little Island. Hosted by Urban Bear's Robert Valin & Viva Vidalia (Urban Bear Street Fair) with Go-Go Bears, Daddies, Cubs and special performances by Ari Kiki, Haireola Grande & More with NYC's Best Pub-Grub plus a selection of over 50 Beers from around the world (not included in admission).
When: Sunday, June 27 to Monday, June 28 from 2 p.m. to 12 a.m.
Where: Brass Monkey, 55 Little West 12th Street
What: Music by a live DJ. Attendees will get to see the Empire State Building lit with rainbow colors on the open deck. Food and drinks available for purchase. Tickets range from $50 to $79. Organized by Event Cruises NYC.

What: Pride events including the virtual Harlem Pride Celebration Event, community bike rides, virtual film screenings and virtual yoga sessions. In-person and virtual events offered.

What: A family-friendly tour narrating the history of the Stonewall Uprising and the rise of the modern day LGBTQ Pride Movement. Portion of all of the proceeds are donated to Heritage of Pride.
When: Various dates. Duration is 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Brooklyn
What: Official Brooklyn Pride events including the Kickoff Party, the 5K Run/Walk, Drag Bingo, Entertainment Stage and Mini-Street Festival. In-person and virtual events offered.
When: June 7-13
Where: Various places in Brooklyn
What: Darrell Thorne, of RuPaul’s Drag Race and HBO’s High Maintenance will bring his unique sculptures and makeup/body paint creations to life as he headlines the Pride exhibit hosted by the innovative Trigonal Gallery. The Trigonal exhibit aims to shed light on the most distinctive LGBTQ+ and allied artists working in multidisciplinary mediums today.
When: Saturday, June 5 and Sunday, June 6 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: 37 Troutman Street
What: March from the dog run to the Prospect Park Dog Beach. Organizers will have stickers, buttons, balloons and a wagon, but request attendees come decked out. There will be at least two wagon "floats" for pups that can't walk that far.
When: Sunday, June 6. Meet between 12 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. March should last roughly an hour.

"Not Another Second: LGBT+ Seniors Share Their Stories" - Art Exhibition
What: Interactive national cultural awareness exhibition premiering in NYC honors LGBT+ seniors and advocates for a more accepting future. Free tickets can be reserved for every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday through September 2021.

Where: The Watermark at Brooklyn Heights, 21 Clark Street
What: Fundraising cycling ride. Tickets cost $35. Percentage of proceeds will be donated to local LGBTQIA+ mutual aid funds.

What: Outdoor festivities providing live music, local vendors and drag performances. Entertainment stage will be located at the 4th Street cul-de-sac. Free.

Brooklyn Liberation: An Action for Trans Youth
What: An emergency rally and march to protest over 100 pieces of anti-transgender legislation that have been filed in over 34 states.

Where: Outside the Brooklyn Museum
What: An hour long outdoor brunch + show filled with kicks, splits, twirls, and flips with beats by Amber Valentine, and performances by Pixel the Drag Jester, Nikita Sins (Blaine Petrovia) and a new guest queen every week! All tables include show and one free drink per person. Bottomless mimosa and brunch available for purchase. Special birthday and bachelorette tables available. Tickets starting at $40.

What: Street fair bringing pop-up entertainment, outdoor dining, shopping promotions, art displays, food and special pride drinks. Free.

Brooklyn Pride Comic Book Fair
What: Outdoor event featuring a host of queer comic book artists in a safe and socially distanced space. The organizers ask that attendees wear a mask when at artists tables for safety. There will be hand sanitizer and gloves to help protect folks.
When: Sunday, June 13 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Anyone Comics, 1216 Union Street
What: Live performances with hoopers, burlesque and drag queens. Come early to decorate a mask for the unmasked Mask cosplay contest. Event organizers will have all the supplies to create the superhero mask. Comic-themed drink specials and prizes. Tickets from $10 to $15. Excelsior vaccination pass required or bring your vaccination card stating that you are two weeks from your 2nd dose of Pfizer or Moderna vaccination or two weeks from you one dose Johnson and Johnson.

Rock & Rally - NYC Pride Rally Screening
What: A free screening of the NYC Pride Rally, bar games and prizes, surprise performances and a special "Disco Drag" set by Bagger Vance.

SWITCH Pride 2021: The Art of Top-iary
What: The creators of SWITCH announce “The Art of Top-iary ” Gay Pride Extravaganza. Friday, June 25th from 10pm-6am, we are transforming our warehouse into a garden of unearthly delights, where naughty nature reigns supreme. Topiary sculptures by floral artist Paul Phoa will blow your mind. Music Selectors: Derek Monteiro (Los Angeles), SDOT (Miami), W. Jeremy (NYC) and Dawson (NYC). All guests must show proof of vaccine (Excelsior App or physical card). Tickets currently cost $99, not including fees.

Queens Pride
What: Organizers are holding three "Summer of Pride" events – one in June, July and August. The event in June will be a virtual Pride panel with details being announced soon. The event in July will be a in-person documentary viewing about Queens Pride in Jackson Heights. Lastly, Queens Pride is organizing an end of summer march in August.

What: Celebrate Pride Month with the Urban Park Rangers. Join us to explore the past, present, and future of Queens’ LGBTQ+ community as we walk the route of the Queens Pride Parade while discussing its significance to NYC parks.

Drag Queen Bingo: PRIDE Edition

What: A night of entertainment to create a signature 'Love Potion' cocktail sponsored by Hendrick's Gin. All of the proceeds of this event will go directly to support and sustain a yoga partnership with New Alternatives: a nonprofit that offers a center and resources for homeless youth members who identify as LGBTQIA.

Pride and Joy: Stories for Trans Youth
What: A special evening where trans young people (and their friends and families!) can see themselves as part of a larger community and can experience the power of connection through storytelling. The readings will be followed by an Exclusive Storyteller Q&A. Tickets start at $25.

"Pride Presents" Annual Film Festival
What: Pride Presents make its debut in the digital space. In partnership with Tribeca Film Festival, the digital experience will feature trailblazing shorts, a documentary, feature film and live talk back to end the evening. Tickets start at $25 plus fees.

What: A digital pride event organized by the RDJ Refugee Shelter, a New York shelter for homeless refugees and asylum seekers. General admission is free.

It Gets Better: A Digital Pride Experience
What: Spanning two days, the second annual storytelling event aims to uplift, empower and connect LGBTQ+ youth. This year's lineup includes a fireside chat with Mj Rodriguez and Laverne Cox, a fashion kiki with designer Christian Cowan, an interview with drag superstar, Pabllo Vittar and a performance by Vincint. Hosted by Kalen Allen featuring Monique Heart.
