NEW YORK CITY — Start salivating, gourmands — New York City's summer Restaurant Week is almost here.
General reservations for the month-long "week" go live July 6 at the official NYC Restaurant Week site, organizers said
The opening will give a hungry New Yorkers an early chance to snag a table for the July 24 to Aug. 20 event, billed as a chance to explore the city "one bite at a time."

"Enjoy prix-fixe meals at hundreds of restaurants across the five boroughs," the event's site states.
Restaurant Week is actually served up twice a year across the city in the winter and summer.

Deals vary, but eateries have typically offered special menus between $30 to $60.
Indecisive or adventurous eaters usually have plenty of options, often helped in past years by Restaurant Week organizers curating collections such as "James Beard Honorees" or "Best of the Boroughs" that are both comprehensive and fairly self-explanatory.
Reservations for this summer's Restaurant Week actually opened between June 29 and Wednesday for Mastercard holders. But, as in years past, those credit card holders are unlikely to have gobbled up too many slots.
