It's the age-old question: what would you do for a Klondike bar?
The answer this Sunday is simple for New Yorkers: simply show up to Union Square Plaza.
Klondike is hosting a National Ice Cream Day popup in the plaza and giving out free frozen treats.
The event caps the famous ice cream brand's "What Would You Do" Hometown Edition challenge.
And, of course, Klondike isn't the only game in ice cream town.
Carvel is offering $5 off any delivery order of more than $25 for National Ice Cream Day.
The offer applies to orders by Order.Carvel.com, DoorDash, Grubhub and Uber Eats.
Speaking of DoorDash, the delivery app is offering a $14.99 ice cream bundle for the day. The bundle comes in two crafted flavors: classic Apple Strudel ice cream topped with baked crust crumbles and sweet heat Peach with chili flakes sorbet, made from natural peach puree.
New Yorkers can order it by selecting the DashPass Jason Biggs Ice Cream Bundle from DashMart on the DoorDash app.
For New Yorkers who want to keep things healthier, but still want free frozen fun, KIND has an event in Domino Park.
The healthy snack company is giving out free KIND Frozen Bars in all sorts of flavors, including its new Chocolate Cherry Almond & Nut Treat.
And, finally, Serendipity3 on the Upper East Side has a special offering that's definitely not free, but certainly... something else.
The eatery is releasing an "All About the Benjamins $100 Sundae" only for the holiday.
For $100, you'll get 12 scoops of ice cream in 9 various flavors including vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, butter pecan, birthday cake, cookies & cream, mint chocolate chip, chocolate peanut butter and chocolate chip cookie dough in a 100-ounce footed goblet. The sundae is then covered with hot fudge, peanut butter topping, mini chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, caramel sauce, maple walnut topping, crushed Oreos, and a giant cloud of green glittered whipped cream and topped with edible $100 bills.
Now, excuse this Patch writer while he grabs a frozen treat and rests his fingers after typing those ingredients out.
