  1. One hundred and forty-five NYPD officers committed misconduct during protests in 2020 over the murder of George Floyd, a newly released watchdog report finds. The Civilian Complaint Review Board recommends severe disciplinary action be taken against 88 of them, and a lighter form against 57. So far 18 officers have faced consequences. (New York City Patch)
  2. A modified law signed on Thursday will require job postings in New York City to disclose salary ranges starting in November. Employers will face penalties after repeat offenses. The law aims to reduce the gender and racial wealth gaps. (New York City Patch)
  3. All NYC public school students will soon be screened for dyslexia, Mayor Adams, who has the condition himself, announced. The screening will start with a pilot program next year. (New York Post)
  4. NYC schools are also struggling to spend $7 billion in federal pandemic funds to be spent over a three-year period. Due to supply chain issues and other factors, $1 billion still remains unspent for this school year, which ends in June.(Gothamist)
  5. This portion of an Upper East Side block, at 3rd Avenue and East 75th Street, was completely demolished over the past few months to make way for an 18-story apartment building. There's at least four other 21-plus story towers planned in the same neighborhood. (New York City Patch)

  1. A violent sex offender on parole was arrested at knifepoint in a Bronx elevator. (New York City Patch)
  2. A report details how the MTA failed to record over 200 attacks on workers between 2019 and 2020, prompting labor violations. (New York City Patch)
  3. Police released information and are requesting tips about a hate crime in Bed-Stuy on March 27, where a woman was allegedly attacked due to her sexual orientation. (New York City Patch)
