NYC Sanitation: No Trash Pickup, Street Sweeping On Labor Day
Here's how residents can go about getting trash removed throughout the holiday weekend.

NEW YORK CITY — Like many others, New York City Department of Sanitation workers will have labor day off, meaning residents' trash and recycling will not be collected on Sept. 7. Streets will also not be cleaned on Labor Day.
Instead, the department asks residents whose trash is usually collected on Monday to place trash out after 4 p.m. on Sept. 7 for pickup the following day.
Those whose recycling is usually collected on Mondays will have to wait a week and are asked to place recycling out after 4 p.m. on Sept. 14 for next-day pickup.

On Labor Day, all the city's sanitization department offices will also be closed.
The sanitation department directs residents to its DSNY Info app for smart phones and tablets. The free app helps New Yorkers reduce waste and find zero-waste landfills more easily. The app is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
